MUSEUMS FOR ALL IN FLORIDA OFFERS REDUCED ADMISSION

Families from all financial backgrounds can have the opportunity to visit local museums through the Museums for All initiative. Museums for All is a cooperative initiative between the Association for Children’s Museums and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

While Museums for All operates in most states, we will be highlighting the ones in Florida.

"museums-for-all-1024x725"

In Florida there is a good handful of Museums that have embraced this Museums for All initiative. Individuals and families presenting an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and a valid form of photo ID can receive individual admission fees ranging from free to $3.00.

That’s a great savings for families who are already strapped for funds. “By removing the financial barrier, Museums for All also removes the social and academic barrier children face when they are not exposed to high quality museum experiences.” as stated on childrensmuseum.org

Participating Museums for All admission rates are offered for up to four individuals per EBT card and is available during normal operating hours. Special museum experiences (e.g., IMAX movies, special exhibitions, etc.) may be additional.

In Florida, there are at least half-a-dozen museums that are currently participating. Below you will find the participating Florida Museums.

NOTE:Admission tickets must be purchased on-site. For confirmation that the museums listed are still participating, please call ahead. Participation may change at any time.
