Following an unfortunate layoff right after the 2008 financial crisis, Elmer chose to invest in his future through education in 2012. While working and paying his own way, he spent years in college earning an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Technologies. During that time, a teacher, Mr. Paul, made a tremendous impact on his training and professional development. The program sparked a passion for HVAC technology that would ultimately shape his career.
Elmer began his HVAC career with a large company in New Jersey, where he learned the trade and gained valuable industry experience. Later, he relocated to South Carolina to raise a family and continued working for a local HVAC company. Through these experiences, he observed very different approaches to customer service—one employer treated clients with exceptional care, while another did not. Those contrasting experiences inspired Elmer to create his own company with a clear mission: to provide homeowners with a reliable, honest, and customer-focused HVAC service experience.
With that vision, he founded Green Apple Heating & Cooling LLC, building the company on the principles of quality service, respect for customers, and integrity in every job.
Beyond his professional work, Elmer has also demonstrated a commitment to giving back to the community. He has assisted elderly widows and individuals facing difficult circumstances, striving to help those who are less fortunate whenever possible. Looking toward the future, he is exploring the possibility of hosting a camp-style program to introduce young people to skilled trades, providing positive summer opportunities while helping youth learn practical career skills.
