Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour
is hereby recognized as a
TOP GUN Professional Business!
Ron Thornton, you are considered a champion business owner for building and managing Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour, a tattoo studio company in Hernando County.
Small businesses are the backbone of an economy.
The owners of these small businesses are entrepreneurs who often take significant financial and business risks, provide employment opportunities, and add their creativity, skill, and ingenuity to the overall commerce of a local community, town, city, and county. Many business owners work long hours, endure challenging times, make personal sacrifices, and find ways to give back to the communities that support them.
Our research team at Expansion Support Services, owners of the County Advisory Board, identified Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour as a local business that is appreciated by its customers and provides valuable professional tattoo services to the Hernando County community.
The company’s continued success speaks to the dedication, creativity, and ability of Ron Thornton to overcome the many obstacles and challenges that are part and parcel of business ownership while creating an environment where customers can feel comfortable, have fun, and turn their ideas into meaningful works of art.
For Ron, art runs in the family and has for generations. His grandmother was especially talented artistically and helped inspire his own passion for art at an early age. By the time Ron graduated with the Class of 1996, he had distinguished himself through his artistic ability and went on to receive formal training in comic book art and sequential art, further developing his skills in illustration, composition, storytelling, and visual creativity.
His introduction to the tattoo industry came through family as well. Ron had a cousin who owned a tattoo shop in Columbus, Georgia, and after visiting the shop and seeing the work firsthand, a thought occurred to him that would help shape his future: if his cousin could do it, so could he. That experience opened the door to what would eventually become a career in the tattoo industry.
Over the years, Ron gained experience working in and managing various tattoo shops, while also learning valuable lessons from jobs and experiences outside the industry. One lesson in particular has stayed with him: how you treat people matters. Ron believes that when someone has a bad experience, they may tell 50 people about it, while even someone who loves their experience may only tell 10. That philosophy has helped shape the customer-first culture he strives to maintain at Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour.
Rather than creating an intimidating or uncomfortable atmosphere, Ron and the team work to provide customers with a cozy, cool, fun, and clean environment. The goal is to create a positive vibe where clients can relax, enjoy the experience, collaborate on their ideas, and leave happy with artwork they are proud to wear.
Ron also believes that being a local business owner means being part of the community. Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour has participated in efforts to give back to local youth, including raffles and donations of gift certificates to help support community causes and activities.
Outside of the tattoo studio, Ron enjoys spending time with his family, family BBQs, hiking, being outdoors, enjoying nature, and, of course, continuing his lifelong passion for art.
We take this moment to acknowledge and thank Ron Thornton for the past, present, and future contributions that Fleshstains Tattoo Parlour and its staff have made and will continue to make in Hernando County.
