His career took him through major cities from New York City and Boston to Los Angeles and included prestigious events such as a presidential inauguration and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Of all his experiences on the road, one of Bill’s fondest memories is working for the same tour company as his father. The two had the special opportunity to travel across the country together while driving tours as part of the same group—an experience that strengthened Bill’s appreciation for family, hard work, and creating unforgettable memories through travel.
After the ownership of the company Bill worked for changed, he was motivated to begin a new journey and establish The Social Shuttle. He purchased an older local city transit bus sight unseen at an auction approximately 400 miles from home. Although Bill had limited experience converting buses, he dedicated four demanding months to transforming it into a comfortable and entertaining party bus. The project required extensive work, including modifying the frame to accommodate passenger seating and ensuring the air-conditioning and heating systems operated properly. What began as a challenging conversion project became the foundation of a family-owned and operated transportation business.
Bill’s family continues to play an important role in the success of The Social Shuttle. His daughter designed the company’s website, while his wife assists with cleaning, reservations, billing, and, as the family affectionately puts it, keeping Bill on task. Their combined efforts reflect the teamwork, commitment, and personal attention that distinguish a true family business.
