Bob is the owner of Rye Knot, a full-service restaurant, brewery & distillery located in Asheville that specializes in plated pub food, incredible beers and hand-crafted whiskeys.
Bob is a retired Naval Officer, ship captain and engineer and has applied that skill set to become a leader in the local restaurant industry.
When it comes to providing expert restaurant services, nothing takes the place of experience. That’s why Bob partnered with the Asheville Godfather of restaurants, Jimi Rentz (owner of Barley’s Pizzeria & Taproom) and Danny Scully (owner of Mountain Madre, formally Scully’s). Their collective experience was critical to getting Rye Knot up and operating, opening in August 2020. Equally critical was his hiring of local chef Ben Dunbar. Ben consistently knocks it out of the park with his incredible menu delivering exquisite cuisine. Joann Hartmann and Ed Greene are additional partners.
Rye Knot provides their customers with high quality food and drink, atmosphere and experience at affordable prices. It is a neighborhood joint and already a favorite among numerous regulars and repeat North Asheville patrons.
