Colorado Auto Repair

is hereby recognized as a

TOP GUN Professional Business!

Jim Wildman, you are considered a champion business owner for building and managing Colorado Auto Repair, a  Auto Repair company in El Paso County.

Small businesses are the backbone of an economy.

The owners of these small businesses are entrepreneurs who often take many financial and business risks, provide employment opportunities, and add their creativity and ingenuity to the overall commerce of a local community, town, city, and county. Many business owners work long hours, endure challenging times, and make personal sacrifices.

Our research team at Expansion Support Services, owners of the County Advisory Board, identified Colorado Auto Repair as a business that is appreciated by its customers and provides valuable automotive services throughout El Paso County.

For owner Jim Wildman, the path to business ownership began long before Colorado Auto Repair. While in high school, Jim attended vocational training and developed hands-on skills that would help shape his future. His career initially took a turn into the construction industry, but after being laid off while expecting his first child, Jim found himself needing to make an important career decision. He returned to his mechanical roots and began working as a mechanic—a decision that would ultimately lead him toward entrepreneurship and business ownership.

Over time, Jim became involved in the business as a partner. Through hard work, persistence, and experience, he eventually bought out his partners and took full ownership of Colorado Auto Repair, assuming responsibility for the company’s employees, customers, reputation, and future.

Like many longtime business owners, Jim will be the first to acknowledge that some of his greatest lessons came through experience. One of those lessons involved learning the challenges of managing employees and recognizing that giving people too many chances, while often coming from a good place, is not always what’s best for the business. Those experiences helped Jim grow not only as a mechanic and business owner, but also as a leader.

Jim has also learned the importance of giving back to the community that supports local businesses like his. Over the years, he and Colorado Auto Repair have contributed through donations supporting the homeless as well as other local charities and community causes. His belief in helping others reflects the same community-minded approach that has helped Colorado Auto Repair build relationships with the people it serves.

The company’s continued success speaks to the dedication and ability of Jim Wildman to overcome the many business obstacles and barriers that are part and parcel to business ownership. From vocational training and an unexpected career transition to becoming a mechanic, partner, and eventually sole owner, Jim’s story represents the persistence and adaptability that are so often required to build and sustain a successful local business.

When Jim manages to get some well-earned time away from the shop, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and getting outdoors. One of his favorite ways to unwind is hunting on the ranch whenever his schedule allows.

We take this moment to acknowledge and thank Jim Wildman for the past, present, and future contributions that Colorado Auto Repair and its staff have made and will continue to make in El Paso County.
