John later served six years in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating discipline and commitment to service. Following his military service, he attended Louisiana State University and went on to work in the oil industry. After suffering an accident on an oil rig and completing rehabilitation, he was advised to retire. However, true to his upbringing on a farm—where quitting was never an option—John chose to keep working.
He returned to the automotive field, working for another company within a sister franchise before eventually purchasing and operating his current Mr. Transmission location. His journey reflects perseverance, adaptability, and a strong work ethic in the face of adversity.
Beyond his business success, John Giblin is deeply involved in his community. He has been a proud sponsor of a local girls’ softball team and continues to support the hometown football team his sons once played for. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with the NHRA community and is an avid participant in drag racing.
