Dr. Joseph Gegzna built Rabbit Creek Dental from the ground up in 2022 with a simple goal: to create a dental practice where patients feel comfortable, listened to, and fully informed about their care.
Dr. Gegzna brings a unique and impressive background to dentistry. Before dental school, he earned a degree in Aviation Management and spent six years as a pilot. After graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2014, he practiced in the Mobile area and later served as a dentist at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and on military bases in Iraq.
Today, Dr. Gegzna leads Rabbit Creek Dental alongside associate dentist Dr. Patrick Shipp, who brings more than 13 years of dental experience to the practice. Before moving to the Mobile Bay area, Dr. Shipp owned and operated his own dental practice in Mississippi.
Located in the Tillman’s Corner area of Mobile, Alabama, Rabbit Creek Dental serves patients from Mobile, Theodore, Grand Bay, Dauphin Island, and surrounding Mobile County communities.
Rabbit Creek Dental provides comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages, including dental cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns and bridges, root canals, extractions, periodontal care, emergency dentistry, dental implants, dentures and partials, teeth whitening, children’s dentistry, and other preventive and restorative dental services.
The practice also utilizes modern dental technology, including digital X-rays, CBCT 3D imaging, digital intraoral scanning, intraoral cameras, and AI-assisted dental imaging. These tools help patients see and better understand areas of concern, such as tooth decay and bone loss, while allowing the doctors to clearly explain their findings and available treatment options.

The doctors and team focus on honest dental care without judgment, unnecessary treatment, or unnecessary hassle. They work to get patients in quickly, stay on schedule, and make dental visits as comfortable, positive, and straightforward as possible.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Gegzna enjoys boating, spending time on the water, and spending time at home with his wife and their three Goldendoodles.
Dr. Shipp has been married to his wife, Morgan, for more than 12 years. They have three children and a beagle named Stella, and the family enjoys exploring the Mobile Bay area together.
Rabbit Creek Dental also supports Dog River Clearwater Revival, a local grassroots organization dedicated to protecting and improving the Dog River watershed, further demonstrating the practice’s connection and commitment to the community it serves.
