Scott DeLong’s Auto Service

is hereby recognized as a

TOP GUN Professional Business!

Ryan Delong, you are considered a champion business owner for building and managing the family business Scott DeLong’s Auto Service, an Auto Repair company in Cobb County origanally owned by his father Scott DeLong.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy.

The owners of these businesses are entrepreneurs who often take significant financial and professional risks, provide employment opportunities, and contribute their creativity and ingenuity to the commerce of their local communities, towns, cities, and counties. Many business owners work long hours, endure challenging times, and make tremendous personal sacrifices to serve their customers and build something that will last.

Our research team at Expansion Support Services, owners of the County Advisory Board, identified Scott DeLong’s Auto Service as a business that is highly appreciated by its customers and provides valuable automotive repair and maintenance services throughout Cobb County and the surrounding area.

The story of Scott DeLong’s Auto Service began with Scott DeLong’s passion for working on cars. Scott initially repaired vehicles at a local Amoco service station. When that business closed, he continued helping customers by working on vehicles from his home. Eventually, his wife, Candace—affectionately known as “Mamma Candace”—decided there could be no more cars at the house. That moment encouraged the family to take the next step.

Scott began renting one or two service bays at a local Citgo station. As the business grew and earned the community’s trust, the DeLong family eventually purchased the entire property and transformed it into a full-time automotive service and repair facility. Scott DeLong’s Auto Service was born, and the company continues to serve customers from that same location today.

Scott’s son, Ryan DeLong, developed his passion for automobiles by following his father around as a child, watching him work, and learning everything he could about automotive repair. When Ryan entered high school and began studying auto repair as a freshman, his first instructor was his own father. After Scott moved on from teaching the following year, another instructor took responsibility for half of the class while Ryan helped teach the other half—an impressive reflection of the automotive knowledge and hands-on experience he had already gained from working alongside his father.

After years of building a respected local business, Scott retired as owner and handed the reins to Ryan. Today, Ryan proudly carries his father’s legacy forward as the new owner of Scott DeLong’s Auto Service. He runs the business alongside his wife, Kylee, whose dedication and involvement have made her an essential part of the company’s continued growth and success.

Just as Scott and Candace worked together to build the business, Ryan has taken over the shop from his father while Kylee has stepped into the important role once held by “Mamma Candace.” Together, Ryan and Kylee represent the next generation of this family-owned and operated Cobb County business, continuing the same small-town tradition of honest service, personal attention, and always greeting customers with a smile.

The company’s continued success speaks to Ryan and Kylee’s dedication, teamwork, and ability to overcome the many obstacles and challenges that are part and parcel of business ownership. Under their leadership, the family tradition continues with the same principles that built the company’s reputation: honesty, straightforward communication, dependable workmanship, and integrity at the forefront of every customer interaction.

Those values are reflected in the rave reviews Scott DeLong’s Auto Service has received from customers who appreciate being treated fairly and receiving honest recommendations about their vehicles. The team understands that earning a customer’s trust is just as important as repairing the vehicle correctly.

The DeLong family’s commitment also extends beyond the repair shop. The company supports at least one local sponsorship each year and has contributed to breast cancer organizations through donations and special fundraising drives, including donating $5 from every oil change during designated campaigns.

The family has also shared its automotive knowledge by offering basic car-care classes for widows and other single women from their church. These classes taught important skills such as checking vehicle fluids and monitoring tire pressure, helping participants feel safer, more confident, and better prepared to care for their vehicles.

We take this moment to acknowledge and thank Scott, Candace, Ryan, and Kylee DeLong for their past, present, and future contributions, as well as the entire staff of Scott DeLong’s Auto Service for the difference they have made and will continue to make throughout Cobb County.

Ryan and Kylee DeLong, you are highly commended and appreciated for carrying forward a remarkable family business tradition and for serving Cobb County, Georgia, with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
