Shane Schanstra got his start in the landscaping business when he was a younger man. Shane owned Sunset Bay Yacht Brokerage and Detailing Services, while he was attending the PGA Golf School he watched a landscaping company go from spot to spot very successfully tending to homeowners needs of their lawn services, this is what inspired Shane.
Shane very quickly thereafter began doing lawns, he built his business and leveraged his network from 1999 to present. In 2003 Shane formally started Sunset Bay Landscaping. Shane began hiring and training staff and started doing residential lawn care. When Hurricane George came through Florida, Simon Properties in Port Charlotte awarded Shane a $1,000,000.00 contract for the hurricane cleanup and installation of new plant material, and this was when the true beginning of Sunset Bay Landscaping took place.
What makes Sunset Bay Landscaping different from any other company doing landscaping in the Tampa Bay area while operating out of Pasco county and reaching as far as Hernando. The interpersonal skills Shane developed while mastering horticultural landscaping through the PGA is where he developed the skills which lead to his success.
Sunset Bay Landscaping is a family owned and operated company, with Shane’s mother doing the books and at one point Shane’s father was heading up sales. which supports the local community. Shane grew up in Chicago and in 1999 he moved to Florida where he has since enjoyed his favorite sports, Golf, Hunting and Fishing. Shane received a Business Degree in Golf Course and Country Club Management through the PGA.
Shane’s favorite sports teams as Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Lighting. Sunset Bay Landscaping is a member of the Pasco Chamber of Commerce and in 2014 Sunset Bay Landscaping received the Business of The Year Award from the city of Lutz.
